Participant Registration

STEP 1

If you are interested in participating at this exciting event, please register your initial interest by completing the participant registration form. This will help us to keep in contact with you in the period leading up to the workshop. Please note that workshop places may be limited. Note that if you wish to present a paper at the workshop a short outline (abstract) will need to be submitted along with your participant registration form . See details of abstracts below.

STEP 2

Once your registration has been confirmed we will request you to fill up the second detailed information form requesting your personal details and preferences. We would like you to submit this second form and send it to us as soon as possible along with your payment for the workshop registration fees. This form will also ask you to let us know if you want to attend additional field visits (optional) before or after the workshop and about your accommodation preferences, nationality and language/translation needs. You should submit this form to as soon as possible, after receiving confirmation from us along with your payment via wire transfer to the details provided below in the payment methods section.

For accommodation bookings, please note that September is the start of Nepal’s main tourist season. Please make accommodation and flight bookings early to avoid disappointment.

Optional Field Visits

You have an option to extend your stay in Pokhara (either before or after the workshop) for additional field visits of 2 days hosted by some of our forestry sector organisations here in Nepal. This will give you a unique opportunity to see real community forestry in action, to talk to members of community forest user groups and to visit some of the beautiful surrounding districts (extra payment will be required for this). We will ask you to indicate on the detail information form in registration step 2 whether you wish to avail yourself of this opportunity and what your specific interests may be.

Standard Registration fees

International Participants US $ 300

Nepali participants is NRs 1,500

The workshop registration fee entitles you to participate in all workshop sessions, events and local field visits over the 4 day period. Other costs such as transport to and from Nepal (except for bus journeys between Kathmandu-Pokhara, and daily pick-up to attend the workshop from your accommodation in Pokhara) are not included. For late registration (after 15 August 2009) a 20% late payment surcharge is payable on the standard registration fees.

As a participant you must make your own travel arrangements (at your own expense) to and from Nepal. You should indicate your planned arrival and departure time on the form and on the same form you may indicate to us which type of accommodation you would like us to book for you (or you might consider making your own arrangements).

BEFORE YOU MAKE A WIRE TRANSFER, READ ABOUT WIRE TRANSFER RELATED FEES

Payment sender (Participant) is responsible to pay ALL bank charges. You should select option "OUR" (sending & receiving fees paid by sending party) and if not sure do ask your bank how much it will cost to send a certain amount and it should be paid by you. It should also be noted that some banks use intermediary banks to send a wire, if these banks charge a fee amount will result in lower when reaching our account. It is best to ask your bank for all expected fees before sending a wire, to ensure accurate registration payment at our account, it will avoid any delay in registration processing.

Stalls, Exhibitions and Posters

You may also wish to register your interest in establishing a stall, or exhibition during the workshop or to exhibit a poster. You are welcome to do so, as this will be an opportunity for wider exposure to an international group of participants. Please indicate in outline on the event registration form below what you would like in order to do this, and we will try to provide you with the assistance you will need to do this. There may be a small charge for setting up a stall or exhibition, and spaces may be limited depending on demand.
